Message of Support for KKE Electoral Campaign Rally

Dear comrades :

The Partido Komunista ng Pilipinas (PKP-1930, the Philippine Communist Party) sends warmest greetings, and extends its solidarity and support, to the main electoral campaign rally to be held by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in Athens on January 22, 2015, just ahead of the January 25 early parliamentary election in your country.

The KKE can be proud that its political line --- for the unilateral and complete cancellation of the debt, for disengagement from the EU and NATO, for the socialization of the monopolies, and for the socialist perspective --- is the only correct one to relieve the Greek people of the burdens of the capitalist crisis, and to pave the way for power in the hands of workers and other laboring people.

We understand that the January 25 parliamentary election in Greece will be crucial to the political course of Europe itself. That is why all the reactionary forces in Greece and all the imperialist countries are conspiring to prevent the KKE from gaining advances in this coming election. The rightist forces in Greece (primarily the New Democracy and PASOK parties), supported by the European and US bourgeoisie, are campaigning hard on a deceptive platform which in fact threatens the Greek people with dire consequences if they do not continue to accept the austerity policies of wage and rights cuts, and to shoulder even more burdens of the capitalist crisis.

On the other hand, Syriza and its supporters in the “European Left” are raising the illusion that they can better manage the crisis, basically by instituting neo-Keynesian policies and moderating the greed of the bourgeoisie in order to humanize the inhuman system of capitalism. Both the rightists and the different hues of social-democrats are disorienting the people to prevent them from realizing the need for the transition from capitalism to socialism.

Under this situation, the PKP-1930 wishes every success to the KKE’s current campaign to get more votes, to thereby elect more deputies to the Greek Parliament, and to advance the socialist agenda inside the Greek Parliament.

In addition, we must mention the fact that the KKE’s struggles are an inspiration to us, and to many other revolutionaries in other countries. We salute the valor of the KKE’s electoral candidates, the militant campaigning of all the office-bearers and members of the KKE, and the steadfastness of the broad supporters of the KKE and the PAME (the All Workers’ Militant Front) among the Greek electorate.

Forward to an electoral victory for the KKE ! Forward to working class rule, and to the defeat the US-EU imperialist agenda in Greece. Victory to the KKE !

With communist greetings,

ANTONIO E. PARIS

General Secretary, PKP-1930
