To: Communist Party of Greece

Dear comrades,

Although also in our country capitalism is beating the working classes harder than ever in the last decades we realize the people in Greece do suffer in a more painful way.  We also are fighting the (neo)liberal politics of our Government, also a coalition of social-democrats and liberals. As in Greece a new social-democrat party existed 'left' from the traditional one. Also in the Netherlands that party, now called SP - not even more Socialist Party as in the beginning - tries to take over the role of the traditional social-democrat party PvdA. So we see many
similarities but also big differences comparing our countries' political and economical situation. We both have to fight new and old social-democrat parties and the massive influence of right wing media. History shows social-democrat parties are opportunists and dangerous for the working class. A third way does not exist. Communist parties have to find there own ways of struggle depending on the national and international balance of forces.

In the Netherlands the former CPN and also our party NCPN decided long ago to fight inside the 'social-democrat' trade unions, based on developing positions in enterprises, factories and institutes. This is what we do first of all. Most of all to put into the discussions everywhere our Marxist-Leninist ideas, ideology, solutions, strategy and tactics. We have to fight right opportunism and also left radicalism.  The possibilities to strengthen communist positions in the Trade Unions nowadays are growing.  This however is not an easy task and will take time: revolutionary patience is necessary. These activities are a daily task and duty because our class-enemies are able to manipulate the 'brains' of the masses by massive disorientation.

That's why we understand how complicated your struggle in Greece must be. As well theoretical, tactical as practical. We fully support the strategy of KKE to built class orientated organisations linked to the real base of the society, the working masses. We know parliamentary successes only are important to strengthen the daily struggle in many places and amongst many groups in society, to strengthen the struggle of the people. Parliamentary positions are no goal as such.

We have to learn better how to built a strong united front of Communist Parties in Europe that can show the false way of the illusions of the new social-democrat parties like Syriza and SP and also to fight with arguments and patience developments like the PEL.

We wish you many successes during the upcoming elections.

A strong KKE in society and in Parliament is very important for all communist parties in Europe.

Long live international solidarity and unity. Socialism is our future!
