The SYRIZA-ANEL government trembles before the people’s rage and indignation and has surpassed every boundary of political wretchedness
The GS of the CC of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumpas, noted in his statement on the plans of the government to pass the law-guillotine during the weekend of the 7-8 of May:
«The SYRIZA-ANEL government trembles before the people’s rage and indignation. It has surpassed every boundary of political wretchedness. It is attempting to pass the anti-people social-security and tax draft laws and its additional agreements with the quartet this weekend in a surprise move.
This is an act of naked authoritarianism and hostility to the labour-movement in order to serve the big employers. It is proof that such a government, however it presents itself, implements anti-people policies and resorts to acts that aim at manipulating the movement and our people.
It also demonstrates that the recovery, the debt adjustment, the new success story, a la Tsipras this time, and all the promises of the government to sweeten the pill of the anti-people agreements it signed with the crows-institutions have as their precondition new endless barbaric measures for the people.
The government is really fooling itself if it believes that by using cheap tricks it will avoid the people’s protests against the measures-guillotine it is pushing forwards
The KKE calls on the workers, the self-employed, the farmers, the young men and women, the pensioners, the women from the popular families to provide a proud militant response, by participating in the strike rallies and demonstrations in a mass way, targeting those really responsible for the people’s problems: the EU, the IMF, the power of capital itself, the governments and parties that serve them.
A people’s uprising today and every following day, with an immediate climax this weekend, when the governmental MPs are planning to vote for the law-guillotine.
The KKE will fight this battle in the streets and inside parliament until the final overthrow of the anti-people political line so that the Greek people really become the masters in their own land and send those who butcher their rights to the Tartarus of history.”
