The 71st anniversary of the Antifascist Victory was honoured with multi-faceted activities in Greece.

So, amongst other things, in Kaisariani, where the mayor is the communist Ilias Stamelos, the museum of the National Liberation front (EAM) was opened. The GS of the CC of the KKE, D. Koutsoumpas, attended the opening.
The organizations of the KKE and KNE in Kallithea and the Kallithea branch of the veterans of the National Resistance and the Democratic Army (PEAEA-DSE) laid wreaths at the Memorial of the Soviet Soldier.
The Larisa branch of the PEAEA-DSE held an event for the 71st anniversary of the Antifascist Victory at the blood-stained hill of Mezourlou, where from 1947 to 1949, over 450 militants of the EAM resistance, the DSE, cadres and members of the KKE were executed.
As the relevant statement of the Press Office of the CC mentioned amongst other things: “We are inspired by and learn from the Great Antifascist Victory. We continue with the unshakeable conviction that socialism is necessary and the only answer to capitalist system. We continue resolutely in the front line, with the working class and people, for social liberation, for the abolition of exploitation of man by man. The Great Antifascist Victory inspires the peoples and teaches them to place trust in their own strength. They can and must test this strength today so that they can be freed from the continual anti-people measures, poverty, unemployment and exploitation.”
The European Communist Initiative , in which the KKE and other communist and workers parties from Europe participate, also issued a statement for May 9th.
