The delegation of the KKE, consisting of Giorgos Marinos, member of the PB of the CC of the KKE, Eliseos Vagenas, member of the CC of the KKE and head of the International Relations Section of the CC of the KKE, and Aris Evangelidis, member of the International Relations Section of the CC of the KKE, returned to Athens from Cuba.
The delegation of the KKE, which was in Havana from Wednesday 13/7 to Saturday 16/7 after an invitation from the Communist Party of Cuba, had a series of meetings with party, state, trade union, and youth cadres of Cuba.
In particular, the delegation of the KKE met with Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the PB of the CC of the CP of Cuba, responsible for organizational issues and international relations.
It also met with Carlos Fernández de Cossío, Cuban Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs.
It also had multiple meetings with a delegation from the International Relations Section of the CC of the CP of Cuba, headed by Ángel Arzuaga, Coordinator of the International Relations Section of the CP of Cuba, and Juan Carlos Marzán, Deputy Coordinator of the International Relations Section.
The delegation of the KKE also met with a delegation of the Communist Youth of Cuba and the General Confederation of the Workers of Cuba. It visited the “Finlay” research centre, where 2 of the 4 Cuban vaccines against the coronavirus were discovered (soberana2 and soberana plus), and despite a busy schedule of meetings, it also had the opportunity to visit businesses and neighbourhoods in the Cuban capital, as well as the “Fidel Castro Centre”.
