Based on the results of the 38th Congress of the Confederation of Civil Servants’ Trade Unions (ADEDY), which was completed on 8/12, the list supported by the KKE and comprised of trade unionists active in the All Workers’ Militant Front (PAME), took second place, receiving more than 20%.

Specifically, more than 240 thousand civil servants of the country took part in the elections for the new administration of ADEDY, electing 631 representatives. The list of the Militant Coalition of Civil Servants (DAS), composed of trade unionists rallied in PAME, received 134 votes (21.3%) and won 18 seats (compared to 131 votes accounting for 18.6% and 16 seats in 2019).

DAKE, supported by the ruling right-wing New Democracy Party, received 147 votes, (23.4%) and 20 seats (compared to 178 votes accounting for 25.3% and 22 seats in 2019).

PASKE, supported by the social democratic party PASOK, received 117 votes (18.6%) and 16 seats (compared to 134 votes accounting for 19% and 16 seats in 2019).

EAEK, supported by the social democratic party SYRIZA, received 97 votes (15.4%) and 13 seats (compared to 100 votes accounting for 14.2% and 12 seats in 2019).

The rest were divided among smaller electoral lists.

“The continuous upward trend of the forces of the DAS forces from 2010 until today is the result of the daily uninterrupted effort of the forces rallying in PAME to organize the struggle of the workers based on their contemporary needs in schools, hospitals, municipalities and regions, ministries, in every workplace. It is the result of the torturous effort for the revitalization of the labour–trade union movement, its emancipation from the aspirations of the state and the employers, the eradication of passive waiting and reliance on an alternation in government”, stressed the statement of PAME.
