Οn Saturday 4/2/23,the Piraeus Sectoral Committee of the KKEorganized a mass and vibrant rally, sending aloud message against the presence of the US aircraft carrier “George W. Bush” in the port of Piraeus and the country’s participation in the dangerous imperialist plans.
The demonstrators shouted “No land, no water to the murderers of the people”, making it clear that they will not tolerate the transformation of the country into a vast US-NATO base and a target of other imperialist centres or the involvement in the bloodshed of other peoples.
The keynote speech at the rally was delivered by Nikos Ambatielos, member of the Central Committee, Secretary of the Central Council of the Communist Youth of Greece and candidate for parliament in the 1st electoral district of Piraeus. “The KKE provides to the people a shield for today and a hope for tomorrow! It highlights the need for the struggle for peace to be linked to the struggle for disengagement from NATO and the EU; for the struggle against the unjust imperialist war to find a way out in the just people’s struggle that will put an end to the causes that give rise to it. That is how a path will open up with the people holding the reins of power and economy in our country, in other neighbouring countries, in Europe, in the whole world”, he stressed among other things.
