The Nationwide Committee of Roadblocks (PEM), which brings together thousands of farmers from over 60 roadblocks across the country, has rejected the government’s attempts at blackmail and its effort to impose unacceptable conditions on the farmers’ meeting with Prime Minister Mitsotakis.
In a blatant attempt to sow division within the farmers’ unyielding struggle, the government met with a group of farmers who represent no one, most of whom are cadres of the ruling party.
The more than 60 roadblocks currently in place will reconvene today, Wednesday 14 January, in Karditsa, to collectively decide on the next steps in escalating their struggle.
