The KKE condemns the large-scale deployment of police forces, the harassment, and the arrests of cadres of the Communist Party of Pakistan during a conference organized by the Communist Party of Pakistan and other organizations of the “Popular Left Alliance” at the Karachi Press Club on 3 February 2026.

After attempts by the security forces to disrupt the conference were thwarted by the determined intervention of the participants, the police proceeded to detain members of the Central Committee of the CP Pakistan. During police questioning, those detained were repeatedly asked about the “content of the speech of the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CP of Pakistan, Imdad Qazi”, and were informed that they had received “orders from high above” to arrest him.

The KKE expresses its solidarity with the CP of Pakistan, which its waging its struggle under extremely difficult conditions for the rights of workers, toiling farmers, and the poor in its country.

We condemn the dozens of cases of torture, enforced disappearance and murder of members of the Communist Party of Pakistan and other militants that have occurred while they were in police custody.

We also condemn the deliberate efforts of the bourgeois government of Pakistan to suppress the struggle of communists and impose a regime of repression, in order to implement its anti-popular policies unhindered, in the interests of capitalist groups.
