On Friday 23 May, the forces of the KKE and KNE in Lavrio blocked a convoy of trucks carrying 155 mm artillery shell caliber produced at the “Hellenic Defence Systems” factory in the area of Lavrio, Attica, which are being used in the war in Ukraine. This action opposed in practice the country’s involvement in the imperialist slaughterhouse in Ukraine and the deadly dangers it poses to the people. The convoy, which had Polish plates and had been leased from a company in the Czech Republic, was forced to turn around and retreat.
Similarly, during their gathering outside a camp where US forces are stationed in Kalamaria, Thessaloniki, the KKE forces blocked the movement of a US tanker in the city, making it clear that the Greek people will not tolerate the presence of the butchers of the peoples in their homeland and that the struggle to close the US/NATO bases will be strengthened.
