A day of action highlighting the needs of Special Education took place on 23 May, organized by groups within the disability rights movement, alongside educators, parents, and workers. Demonstrations were held in many cities across the country as part of nationwide mobilizations in support for special education, welfare, and disability rights.
The KKE’s support for the just demands of the disability rights movement and advocates of special education was expressed at Syntagma Square by Party MP V. Daga, who stated that “the government must take measures in response to the explosive situation prevailing in special schools, which operate in unsuitable school buildings and face severe shortages of support staff, psychologists, and social workers across all school units.”
