“The KKE expresses its solidarity with the Spanish people for the loss of at least 39 people after the derailment and collision of trains in Andalusia”, the Press Office of the Central Committee of the KKE emphasizes in its statement on the tragedy on the Spanish railway, adding:
“The Greek people have themselves experienced the pain of losing human lives on the railway, as seen in the crime in Tempe.
While the exact causes must be thoroughly investigated, it is entirely reasonable that, after such tragedies —which have occurred in almost all EU countries— people are deeply concerned about the safety of their transportation. This concern is justified given the policy of the EU and governments, which ‘fragment’ the railways, ‘liberalize’ them and privatize them, subordinating everything to the pursuit of profit.”
