The KKE condemns the arbitrary arrest of two members of the Political Bureau of the Jordanian Communist Party, Omar Awad and Osama Zein Aldin, as well as the student Baha Hisham, by the Jordanian authorities on the evening of Sunday, 8 March 2026.
The IRS of the CC of the KKE stated the following:
“This is a dangerous development that reflects the continuing escalation of repression, the restriction of political activity by the communists, and the violation of people’s rights by the Jordanian state under conditions of intense military engagement.
We demand the immediate release of the three comrades and express our unconditional solidarity with the communists of Jordan and other militants fighting for political and social rights.
Hands off the communists of Jordan!”.
