Regarding the meeting of the SG of the CC of the KKE Dimitris Koutsoumbas with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan
On May 11th, 2018, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Greece, Alexei Volkov, visited the Headquarters of the CC of the KKE after his request to meet with D. Koutsoumpas, GS of the CC of the KKE.
During the meeting there was a mutual exchange of information regarding the developments in the two countries, as well as in the broader region. The GS of the CC of the KKE informed the Ambassador on the positions and the activity of the KKE. He particularly noted the dangers created for the peoples from the accentuation of the competitions, the interventions and wars. The reinforcement of US and NATO presence in Greece, in the Eastern Mediterranean, in the Balkans and in other regions, such as the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea increse these dangers.
Furthermore, D.Koutsoumpas expressed KKE’s solidarity with the working class, with the workers of Kazakhstan and strongly criticized the use of firearms by the authorities against workers on strike, as has happened for example in Zanaozen in 2011, having as a result many casualties and many workers injured. D. Koutsoumbas urged the Ambassador to the necessity of stopping the ban of CP of Kazakhstan, as well as the no recognition and the persecutions against cadres of the Socialist Movement of Kazakhstan, that are two Parties that take part in the International Meetings of Communist and Worker’s Parties with which the KKE stands in solidarity.
The GS of the CC of the KKE took a clear position against all actions that promote anti-communism and anti-sovietism, such as the destruction of monuments of the soviet era and the construction of others that exalt the leaders that collaborated with the German fascists and with the SS.
D. Koutsoumpas expressed his agreement for the continuation of the reinforcement of multilateral relations of friendship, cooperation and solidarity between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Greece, as well as for the development of political and cultural relations between the two countries.
