Friday 18 September 2026, marks the 13th anniversary of the murder of anti-fascist musician and metalworker Pavlos Fyssas in Keratsini by the shock troops of the Nazi criminal organization Golden Dawn. That same afternoon, a rally will be held at the memorial to Pavlos Fyssas (in Keratsini, a neighborhood of Piraeus), followed by a march to Kokkinia, located in the neighboring district of Nikaia, where in August 1944 the Nazis and their local collaborators set up a roadblock and executed over 100 communists and other National Resistance fighters.
The Labor Center of Pireaus, PAME, dozens of trade unions and mass organizations are calling for participation in the rally:
“We do not forget! We do not forgive! We continue the struggle against fascism and the system that gives rise to, fosters, and exploits it,” emphasizes the Labor Center of Pireaus, noting the following:
“The murder of Pavlos, just a few days after the organized murderous attack by Golden Dawn members on PAME trade unionists in Perama, has once again revealed the true role of the Nazi criminal gang Golden Dawn, of the storm troopers, and of fascists as a whole. They are the long arm of the system, serving capital and the capitalists. Workers, tradeunionists, immigrants, young people, and anyone who struggles and resists exploitation, war, poverty, and displacement are in their crosshairs. They defend the interests of this decayed system to conceal the criminal policies that benefit the profits of the few and their consequences, at the expense of satisfying the needs of the many.”
It adds that “it is by no means a coincidence that Nazi criminal Ilias Kasidiaris is attempting a political comeback—and is being given an excessive media coverage—on the occasion of his release from prison,” and declares:
“The organized workers’ - people’s movement will send him and the rest of them where they belong—to the dustbin of history. They must not dare set foot in Piraeus and its neighborhoods! We will not allow the Nazis to gain ground again! We will not let them crawl out of their holes to attack workers and unions, or to poison the youth! We are taking action! We are isolating the fascists by every means possible, wherever they appear—in schools, in neighborhoods, in workplaces!”
