“Greece out of the slaughter, close the Souda base” is the message the KKE sent with a giant banner displayed in the old port of Chania, just a short distance from the US military base in Souda.
“At a time when imperialist war is raging in the Middle East and the world is on fire, a call to rise up is being signalled”, notes the KKE’s Crete Regional Committee, adding: “The Souda base is a key launching pad for war and a target for retaliation. Once again, the narrative that the Souda base protects the people is exposed as false.
Let’s all take to the streets and stand up against barbarity. The imperialists are not invincible.
- Greece must be disengaged from the slaughter.
- Close the murderous Souda base and all NATO bases.
- Recall the Greek Patriot missile battery from Saudi Arabia and bring home the frigate currently deployed in the Red Sea.
