In the last few days, a plan of open intervention against the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV) has been set in motion, organized by the ruling social-democratic United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). On 4 February, small groups with shirts and flags bearing the emblems of the CP of Venezuela appeared in a staged manner at rallies of the ruling PSUV, declaring their support for the government’s anti-popular policy and condemning the leadership of the CP of Venezuela for opposing it. This shameful plan is being escalated further, with the provocateur groups calling for meetings of “members” of the CP of Venezuela in various regions with the aim, as they say, of overthrowing its leadership.
The CP of Venezuela has revealed this dirty plan from the outset and has even made public details of who the provocateurs —falsely posing as members of the Communist Party— are. Everything indicates that the above is aimed at preparing the ground for the removal of the leadership of the CP of Venezuela by court order.
The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) denounces the escalation of the anti-communist provocation and expresses its internationalist solidarity with the CP of Venezuela. The dangerous role of social democracy is revealed once again, which on the one hand implements measures to crush workers’ and people’s rights and on the other hand takes measures of persecution and repression against communists.
The KKE, standing in firm solidarity with the Venezuelan people and unequivocally condemning the imperialist interventions in the country, clearly states that it will use all means to denounce and prevent any intervention in the internal affairs of the CP of Venezuela. In this regard, it calls upon the Communist Parties, the Communist Youth Organizations, and the workers’-people’s forces overall, to express their solidarity with the CP of Venezuela.
