"We condemn this unacceptable action which is a coup and any formation that may appear under the name and symbols of the Communist Party of Venezuela and that will be a puppet of the social-democratic government and the state of Venezuela", notes the International Relations Section of the CC of the KKE in its statement on the implementation of the infamous plan to outlaw the Communist Party of Venezuela.
At the same time it states clearly that "the KKE will continue to express its internationalist solidarity and support to the Communist Party of Venezuela, the Central Committee, the General Secretary Comrade Oscar Figuera, all its members and their struggles in defense of the interests of the working class and the people of Venezuela".
The full text reads as follows:
"On Friday, August 11, the infamous plan to outlaw the Communist Party of Venezuela, which has been promoted for a long time by the bourgeois state, the social-democratic government and the ruling party, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), entered the final stage of its implementation. The Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) announced that it accepted the appeal of the group of provocateurs, formed by a few former CP members and mostly State/government officials, and ordered the removal of the leadership of the CP of Venezuela and the appointment of a new leadership of the group of provocateurs. In the coming days they may attempt to seize the offices and assets of the CP, and even arrest its cadres.
The Communist Party of Venezuela has already declared firmly that it condemns the intervention of the bourgeois state in its internal affairs and that it will defend its ideological, political and organizational independence at all costs, while it is calling for mass rallies in defense of the Party.
The KKE condemns categorically the unacceptable, reactionary and anti-communist decision of the Supreme Court that implements the decisions of the government of the PSUV. The KKE will continue to express its internationalist solidarity and to support the Communist Party of Venezuela, the Central Committee, the General Secretary Comrade Oscar Figuera, all its members and their struggles in defense of the interests of the working class and the people of Venezuela.
