On 26 February, three years after the train collision in Tempe, thousands of school and university students, together with their teachers, took to the streets in mass rallies held in many cities across Greece.
The youth demonstrations served as a precursor to the major strike mobilization called by the unions for Saturday 28 February, marking the third anniversary of the crime. The strike will take place under the slogan “Their profits or our lives”, highlighting the relentless class struggle unfolding across the capitalist world.
In Athens, a large student rally was held in the centre of the city. Earlier, the youth march stopped outside the Ministry of Labour, where protesters unfurled a banner stating that in 2025, 201 workers lost their lives at work due to inadequate heath and safety measures.
