On 21 October, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the KKE, met Kemal Okuyan, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Turkey, at the headquarters of the KKE Central Committee. Giorgos Marinos, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and a Member of Parliament and Aris Evangelidis, a member of the Central Committee and the International Relations Section, also participated in the meeting.
During the discussion, there was an exchange of views and an update on developments in both countries and internationally, as well as on the state of Greek-Turkish relations.
Furthermore, internationalist solidarity between the two parties and their commitment to defend the rights of the people were expressed. Their comradely ties and the continuation of their cooperation in the interest of friendship among peoples, against the current barbarity, whichgives rise to wars, poverty and displacement, were also reaffirmed.
