80 years since the imperialist crime in Hiroshima - Nagasaki

On 6 August 2025, marking the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, thousands of people demonstrated demonstrated across Greece to protest against imperialist crimes in Gaza and elsewhere.
A rally organised by the Greek Committee for International Détente and Peace (EEDYE) was held at the Acropolis in Athens, followed by a protest march to the EU offices in the Greek capital. A delegation from the EEDYE delivered the resolution of the anti-imperialist mobilization to the EU offices, which states, among other things: “The EEDYE denounces the greatest crime of imperialism, the dropping of atomic bombs by the US on Hiroshima and Nagasaki on 6 and 9 August, 1945, and honours the memory of the hundreds of thousands of victims (...) Today, 80 years later, the nuclear threat is growing. The inter-imperialist competition between the Euro-Atlantic camp (US-NATO-EU) and the Eurasian bloc under formation (Russia - China) is escalating the risk of a nuclear holocaust”.
Similar rallies were held in Thessaloniki, Larissa and other cities across Greece.
The demonstrators demanded that Greece disengage from the US - NATO - EU wars, the closure of US-NATO bases and the cessation of all cooperation with the state of Israel. They also expressed their unconditional solidarity with the Palestinian people.
