The measures against the workers'-people's rights are the major scandal

An off-the-agenda Parliament debate at the level of the political leaders on the issue "the phenomena of corruption and vested interests, their influence on the institutional and political system and how to deal with them" was held on the 10th of October 2016 on the plenum of parliament. The discussion took place at the proposal of the Prime Minister, A. Tsipras, as it is a "convenient" issue of discussion for the bourgeois parties ("left", "centre" and "right"), which seek to hide their convergence in terms of serving the anti-people strategy of capital by accusing each other over issues of management, corruption and "ethics".

Against this direction, the GS of the CC of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumpas, highlighted that the phenomena of corruption and vested interests are integral to the defense of capitalist power and ownership itself, which all the bourgeois parties support. He underscored that the people have to face greater scandals, greater injustices that come again in the form of an avalanche of measures related to labour rights, heavy taxes, home seizures, a raft of measures that bury the rights, income and lives of the people.

D.Koutsoumpas, in reference to the confrontation between SYRIZA and ND, reminded the people of the similar "cockfights" between PASOK and ND in the recent past, before these two parties ended up in the same coalition government and underlined that in the name of fighting against corruption and vested interests, they are trying to carry our restructuring and readjustments in the state sector, in the economy, the bourgeois political system, which will facilitate the activity of the big businesses.

The GS of the CC of the KKE noted that the party has submitted specific proposals on the issue of corruption, which however were rejected, because they confront the sacred cows of capital.

He called on the Greek people to look at the overall picture, the "forest" and not the "trees" that are being set up to mislead them in each phase. And this is "forest" is the rotten and corrupt system that bleeds our people. It is its political personnel, the various centres which -despite the competition between them-serve this system.
